In these days of concern about the spread of infectious diseases, we want you to know that the protection of our patients is the top priority in our office. We do everything possible to assure the sterility and safety of our working environment. We do not re-use dental needles and unfinished portions of local anesthetics. All dental instruments, handpieces and drills are changed and sterilized before putting them to use again.

We meet all the recommendations set by the Malaysian Ministry of Health. We actually set our infection control guidelines against the standards by the British Dental Association; Australian Dental Association and the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, USA). We continually review updates of infection control materials and techniques so that we can achieve our goals by using the newest and best methods.

Our infection control procedures include:

• Disinfectant hand soap.
• Smocks, disposable gloves and face masks.
• Disposable materials to prevent cross contamination.
• Eye protection.
• Chemical disinfection of countertops and surfaces.
• Individually wrapped sterilised instruments in pouches.
• Sterilization of all instruments before every use including Handpieces.
• We do not re-use polishing brushes, polishing paste, dental needles, unfinished portion of local anaesthetics, etc. All that is meant to be disposed will be disposed after every patient.
• Disposal of biochemical waste and sharps through an approved biohazard disposal company.
• Doctor and technical staff are vaccinated for Hepatitis B.
